I live 3 miles from Kitsap Pavilion. This year we saw an amazing change for the better in our area. Before KRM moved here, I constantly saw unsheltered people in our area. (In fact, that’s why I decided to fundraise for KRM.) People were obviously living behind buildings at Fred Meyer, in the many wooded areas along Highway 303, and in the Walmart parking lot. Panhandlers were prevalent, and great suffering was apparent. After KRM moved to the Pavilion, everything changed. We no longer saw large numbers of people getting by outside. The signs of encampments began to disappear. Now we seldom see bedraggled individuals pushing shopping carts along the highway. What a wonderful blessing it has been to see our area transform, and see our neediest neighbors find the care they need. I wish KRM could stay here! But I am happy that another neighborhood will get to have the wonderful transformation we have seen in East Bremerton.
